Bel-air Motel

We left as soon as we could after finding a roach in the bathroom at night and another near where we slept in the morning. The room smelled awful. I’d first been given a room with one double bed, no towels, and a door slightly ajar, so I checked it out. The kitchen between the rooms was very dingy, and its door into the room wouldn’t lock. After I asked for a room with two beds, we were moved to a room with two doubles that had been converted from an office. This place needs a lot of work before it can stay open. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The motel needs to be inspected and the necessary steps taken to protect public health. My room was unsanitary: the sheets were stained, with blood among the stains, and it was extremely cold with a strong, unpleasant smell. That was a disturbing and unacceptable experience, and it raises serious concerns about guests’ health and safety. Businesses in hospitality are responsible for meeting basic hygiene standards, and this motel didn’t meet them. I hope appropriate action is taken.

We couldn’t stay in the room because it was so cold and unsanitary, so we ended up sleeping in our car in freezing weather. After we asked for help, staff brought us sheets they called clean, but they were dirty, and the portable heater they brought didn’t work. The room was filthy, the heater was broken, and a disgusting smell hit us as soon as we arrived for our late check-in. The manager showed us a screen saying “Refund Submitted” to get us to leave, but the money still hasn’t been processed. Avoid this place for your health.

I had booked a whole week, but made it through just one night. There was mould and filth everywhere, and nothing worked. In the middle of the night, I switched on the light and cockroaches scattered all over the place. There weren’t just a few, there were hundreds. I left straight away and am still waiting for my refund. There was no way I was staying for the week. I don’t get how this place has any good reviews. It makes no sense.
