Slave Lake Inn & Conference Centre

The pub was good, and its staff were excellent. Everyone else we dealt with was friendly and helpful too, and they even had dog treats ready when we checked in with the puppies. There’s lots of parking, and the enclosed grassy area is great for guests with dogs, with supplies provided for cleanup. Our room was very clean, and the breakfast buffet from 5am to 9am was very good. The bacon was tasty. A great location and a very pet friendly stay.

The service was great from check-in through checkout, and having a restaurant on site with free breakfast was nice. The room felt a little dated, but the beds were comfortable. It’s pet friendly, with a nice spot to walk the dog.

The housekeeping supervisor was very rude and tried to impose her Pentecostal religion on me. I felt uncomfortable and had to walk away. I wouldn’t consider working there. She’ll chase you out if you’re not her kind of person. Never again.

The desk ladies were kind and service was good, but the stay had some real problems. My upstairs room was ridiculously hot, even with the AC cranked up and the windows open. During my week there, the shower went cold at random every time I used it. One day, a staff member followed me up to my room to check whether my card worked. That seemed odd since I could have gone to the desk if it didn’t. A coworker’s vehicle was stolen from the parking lot, so I’d try to park somewhere under surveillance in case anything happens.
