Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton N - St. Albert by IHG

Mornings were easy here, with a fresh breakfast and plenty of options. The Holiday Inn Express in Spruce Grove was clean and comfortable, and the staff made it feel welcoming. Everyone was friendly and quick to help with a smile. It was a relaxing stay, and I'd gladly come back.

We were in town for a conference and already exhausted, and this incident ruined our weekend. At 3:30 in the morning someone came into our room without warning, then left after realizing we were there. A couple of days later, we learned it had been the security guard. When we complained, the manager refunded only the first night, arguing that we'd slept well the second night. Her apologies felt empty, and she was extremely rude. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Stay away from this poorly managed place.

The front of the house was super clean, and the front desk agent was amazing. Caitlin, thanks for the wonderful accommodations that made my sister's birthday so special this weekend! I work at a hotel in my city, and this one is farther out, but worth the drive. Also, the mini fridge is the best I've seen at any hotel we've stayed in. The ice machine beside the elevator was awesome too.

The sales coordinator I booked through was lovely, but everything that followed was so frustrating that I won't stay at a Holiday Inn again or recommend the birthday pool party package. I booked it for my 9 year old's birthday, with a room rate in my contract, but the hotel initially said I had to pay double. I had to go to the manager to get the signed contract price honored. Staff were very rude, and though I was told no rooms were available except one on the main level, which I booked, we somehow ended up on the third floor. I was promised a late checkout when booking, then told on arrival we had to leave by 11am and couldn't get one. I was even lectured about supply and demand and told I needed to understand hotels better. The staff clearly didn't know their own event packages.
