Delta Hotels by Marriott St. John's Conference Centre

I was at the conference and really enjoyed my stay. The service was amazing, with staff who were incredibly nice, friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a good spot near the core. The rooms were good, though the bathroom needed an upgrade, and I would have liked a better coffee machine. The Wi-Fi could have been faster. Thanks, Delta.

At the Delta Conference Center, service was outstanding. The team stayed organized and attentive, and made sure the vegetarian table's food was replenished promptly. Chef Michey Chan, the sous chefs and the full service team deserve credit for a polished, seamless meal. The spread was one of the best conference meals I've had, with an impressive range of meats and cheeses and beautifully arranged charcuterie. Small plates were a highlight too, especially the beet goat cheese balls with cherry tomatoes, a lovely mix of earthy, creamy and fresh. The hot dishes were just as good. The rib with chimichurri was full of flavor, and the vegetarian choices were thoughtfully done. Fried dumplings were light and crisp with a generous, well seasoned filling; cauliflower bites were perfectly fried with a rich house made curry sauce. Other dishes included molten raclette on toast and toasted bread with onion jam and brie, both rich without feeling heavy. The soft boiled ramen with vegan broth and a perfectly jammy egg was delicate and balanced. Rice paper rolls with fresh radish and thin noodles had a tangy, spicy sauce and tasted bright and fresh. Everything looked as good as it tasted. I wish we'd taken photos, since the presentation was lovely.

We went for Paddy's Day with visitors from out of town. The restaurants and food were great, and there's a lovely view in pretty much every direction. The rooms could use an update. Later that evening, drunk people came up from dt and were sloppy. Someone spilled a drink in the lobby and it wasn't cleaned up. I guess the three staff at the desk were too busy on their phones. The aggressive panhandlers in that enclosed court really need to be dealt with. Then a group of kids arrived for a dance competition. They ran and yelled up and down the halls at all hours, so we checked out early because the late night noise was unacceptable. It's great that kids are having fun, but people need to keep some control and consideration during quiet hours.

The hotel connects to the convention centre by a walkway, so I could get to my conference without going outside. The accommodation and service were excellent, and the staff and maids were all friendly and helpful. The location was great as well, with restaurants within walking distance and places easy to reach by Uber.
