The room was cheap and cheerful, which suited us, and the location was very good. The value for money is excellent. Check-in was a frustrating start, though. The property hadn’t sent our room number or entry code, and nobody answered the only contact number we had. Luckily I came across Amin, the caretaker, and he helped us out. Just so people know, reviews mentioning breakfast are out of date. Breakfast isn’t included anymore. There’s a shared fridge, coffee maker, coffee, tea, water cooler, plates and cutlery.

Once we got inside, the service contact number in our room got a quick reply, and the person was prompt and very helpful. Getting hold of the primary contact before arrival was another story. We tried messages, calls, online chat and the booking company, using two email addresses and one phone number, five days out, two days out and on the day. We stayed in room 5. The bathroom felt like an afterthought and is less than 4 by 4 tiles in size. The view of St. John’s was great, but the shower mat had bleach stains and the room fridge didn’t work. For the approach, take the NE/SW street instead of the hilly SE/NW street for the most enjoyable route.

The price was affordable and the location was excellent. The room and bathroom were tiny, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was small and awesome. I liked it and will come back.

The location was amazing for the price, and the instructions for using the free parking were well done. The room was almost clean. In winter, the blanket felt too light, there weren’t snacks, and the kitchen dishes were dirty. Most frustratingly, there was nobody around to ask for an iron. 😢
