Daigle Motel

Lisa was amazing to book with, and my wife absolutely loves her. She even answered the phone, which felt like a rare bit of customer service. On the way from Ontario, I tried booking in Edmunston and got put on hold, hung up on, then told to book online. The rooms are spacious and clean. It’s retro and endearing, and I’d highly recommend it.

A very nice find just outside Grand Falls. We were surprised by how clean and quiet this motel was for such a reasonable price, and it’s handy to the highway. It’s not fancy, but the retro feel is nice and the place is spotless, just what we want for an overnight stop. There’s no dining room, but they pointed us to a BBQ place about 1 km away, which worked for us. We travel this route twice a year and plan to make Daigle’s our regular stop.

The front desk was disorganized, with reservations misplaced, and there doesn’t seem to be a consistent system between the evening and day staff. The prices also felt arbitrary and shocking for what’s offered. It’s a run-down motel, and some people appear to live in the units full time. I didn’t feel the area was safe for leaving a car unattended or being outside after dark. This would only be a last-resort stop for me. Stay on the highway and pick somewhere else.

The outdoor pool area is great, with plenty of chairs and warm water. The rooms and furniture are dated, but in a charming way, and the owners are really friendly and accommodating. The pizza place across the street is a good option for food. For an economy motel, it’s a great clean place to sleep as long as you expect basic amenities. The rooms are extremely clean and the property is well maintained. Staying here costs a fraction of what the bigger hotel chains in Edmundston charge, and those aren’t kept as clean.
