We found this extraordinary place in August 2025, a magnificent 1840 home filled with beautiful antiques. Our gentlemen hosts were great, and breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in all our travels around North America. Wow, wow, wow. 10 out of 10.

The house itself is cute, with lots of art and antiques, and the dining area looked lovely. We’d been looking forward to enjoying it, but didn’t get the chance. After dinner, Fred stopped us while we were walking in and asked whether we’d use the AC or let him open the window. We were confused since he’d already shown us how to use it. My husband said okay, thank you, and Fred asked if he’d said yep, then got loud. We felt extremely uncomfortable. They didn’t seem to want us there when we arrived, and we’re shy, socially anxious people. The rudeness and unkindness pushed us out the door. Bert specifically called us homophobes, which was hurtful and weird. Neither of us is hateful or homophobic. We left feeling completely unwelcome, and were still charged even though we used nothing, not the bed or bathroom. I cried a few times, and my husband was almost in tears after Fred was rude to us. We really thought he might have been drunk, as he was staggering his words and rude for no reason. They made us feel unsafe. I don’t recommend staying here. We’ve had wonderful stays at quite a few B&Bs, but after this experience we won’t try another new one. It hurt our feelings and put us off new B&B experiences.

We were house hunting for a couple of days and Fred and Bert helped us get oriented to the area, with great advice on where to eat and visit. Their home is amazing, our room was perfect, and the ensuite felt like a spa. The breakfasts were scrumptious, especially the homemade jams and preserves and those mouthwatering bacon egg cups. We felt so welcome and truly think we made lifelong friends on our house hunting trip in NB. We look forward to our next stay at the Coach House B &B in St. Stephen (NB). Highly recommend it. P.S. we owe two somebodies a dinner.

Fred and Bert were two of the most interesting people I’ve met, and such welcoming, gracious hosts. They made us feel special from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was a whole gastronomic experience, all homemade and delicious. Their three French Bulldogs are adorable too. Our stay at the Coach House felt magical. I’d definitely come again. Thank you!

A confusing and unpleasant experience. The homeowner treated us horribly and was extremely disrespectful, so we decided to leave. After reading negative reviews, mostly on Expedia, it seems they often overbook and make guests leave while keeping their money under a no-cancellation policy.
