The family room door wouldn’t close properly, even though I booked it for more privacy. The advertised high speed internet was unbelievably slow. We were charged extra for the kids despite the sign saying they stayed free, and asking at reception didn’t resolve it. The hotel is very old and needs renovation. The AC didn’t work, there was no hot water, and we found garbage on the bathroom floor.

There was hair on the sheets and in one of the towels, water came up through the bathroom floor, and there was little or no hot water. There was no Wi-Fi, iron, or hair dryer either. With the AC running, it was so noisy I couldn’t think. This was the worst room I’ve stayed in. Definitely a hell no to coming back, I’d rather sleep in my car.

We stayed one night on the way back from Nova Scotia because St. Stephen had no other rooms available within 50-100 miles. The first room smelled awful, the AC didn’t work, and there were bugs and hair all over, including on the bed. The front desk person didn’t take our complaint about the AC well, but moved us to another room. It had nearly all the same problems, though the AC worked. We changed into pajamas, left all our bags in the car, and sprayed bug spray everywhere. The bathroom was so horrible we didn’t shower. The next day we put our clothes in a garbage bag, took them home, and washed them on a sanitize cycle. Camping would have been better if we’d had our gear. This place is a joke. The reviews were horrible, but we didn’t have another choice.

I gave it four stars because it fills a real need in this community. Affordable housing is very scarce in town, and this place rents rooms by the month. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. There’s no TV, but there is Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The owner, Linda, is a good person and very helpful.

After just one night, I called to ask why my credit card had been charged three times instead of once. The same clerk, a Chinese lady, screamed at me and hung up. The owner, who also works the front desk, was unbelievably rude. The rooms were closet-sized, dusty, and dirty. Never stay there if you want a pleasant, easy stay.
