We were three travelers, and the room fit us perfectly. There was even a separate nook like a walk-in closet where we could tuck away our luggage. Everything smelled fresh and was clean, and the towels were super soft. I got a kick out of the cup in our room with a Bavarian or Austrian poem on it. I’d definitely stay again.

After a very long drive from Southern California to Alaska, this lodge was just what my sister and I needed. The owners were pleasant, check-in and check-out were easy, and it was peaceful and quiet for a wonderful night’s sleep. It’s in a great location, the beds are comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. Five stars, and I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to or through Stewart.

Right downtown Stewart, this lodge has great accommodations if you need a room. There’s a community kitchen, laundry service, and a shared TV room. The staff are friendly and know a lot about the town and community. Highly recommend booking a stay here!

Hydra was a quaint little village, and interesting to explore despite being so small. We stopped there both on the way to Whitehorse and on our return. The scenery was beautiful, as it was for most of the drive, honestly. A few miles out of town, we came across a female Grizzly with her 3 cubs. I only managed to get 3 in the frame, sadly.

The motel was clean and well organized, with spacious rooms in a prime location. It already feels like you’re in Alaska, even before heading up to the Yukon. Martin, the owner, was fantastic, and he lent us 4 bikes for our entire stay at no charge. Definitely recommend.
