Rodeway Inn

There are no elevators, and getting to the stairs means walking down a long hall. We went to look at a room. The first floor was clean, and those rooms have exterior doors, but the second floor was dirty. Its carpet was heavily stained, with grass and other debris, and hadn't been vacuumed. The stains looked caked on, as if the carpet hadn't been cleaned in ages. The room itself was decent for the price, but it looked like someone had been on the bed after it was made. She refunded us when we asked. We went to the nearby Clarion instead. It cost more, but was clean and well maintained. Sorry, no photos. The first floor might be okay.

The room was comfortable, and parking close to it was easy since the lot was spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful the whole visit. I booked online without any trouble, and my CAA membership got me a discount. I had a good stay at Rodeway Inn on Regent Street in Sudbury.

Room 120's bathroom is so tiny that if you're over 130 pounds, you may not be able to fit and shut the door without climbing onto the counter. Then there was the cockroach. My husband killed it and took a video. We called the front desk, but they offered neither another room nor a refund so we could go to another hotel. I didn't sleep at all, and when we got home we washed everything. Gross on every level. We'd asked for a main-floor room and paid an extra $15 to switch.

We checked in December 2025 for a serious medical appointment. The first room had no heat from 1 pm, and there still wasn't any by 8 pm. We were moved to another room, but while carrying our luggage across the hall, we found cockroaches in the second one. The girl at the desk didn't seem bothered and wanted to give us a room upstairs. No thanks. We asked for a refund and were still waiting three days later. We should have been resting the first night, but instead had to find another hotel. Terrible, terrible.
