The scenery was breathtaking, and we had a really pleasant change of pace on quiet country roads for walks and hikes. My boyfriend and I came for a birthday getaway, about a two-hour drive west of Mtl. I have family near Knowlton and West Brome. Our accommodations were humble, with a small ensuite bathroom and no TV, which was fine. The bar fridge came in handy, and there was an intimate lounge area, though a small microwave would have been useful. The continental breakfast had a nice range of choices, and the coffee was excellent. Alexandre and Karen were very hospitable and spoke both French and English. We drove a short way to have dinner on Main Street in Sutton, where there are quite a few places to eat and cute shops. Even with other guests close by at the Auberge, everyone kept their conversations at a respectful volume. I’d happily visit again, this time in summer instead of fall. The fall colours were spectacular, though, and the crisp morning air was lovely.

I turned up on a Sunday evening after a long day of driving and skiing, having stupidly booked the wrong weekend and arrived without notice. The host realized my reservation mistake, said it was no trouble, and quickly got a room ready when I really needed one. It was charmingly rustic, and I slept soundly for ten hours before skiing the next day. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Sutton.

The owners are so friendly and helpful, and they’re there if you need anything. They speak English too, which helped since I don’t speak French. The rooms are clean, nice, and very comfortable. A great place to stay, and I highly recommend it.

The continental breakfast was very good. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the host was very nice, spoke English, and explained everything. There’s no AC, but the fan worked just fine. I’d recommend staying here.

Love Schweitzer. I drove seven hours from Toronto to spend a week there, and it was an amazing escape from the big city. The hosts were even better than my own family. See you again soon.
