The homemade soup was the highlight for me. I went back for a second bowl, not because the portions were small, but because it was that good. You can tell it was made with care. The meal was great all around, and the warm service and cozy, welcoming atmosphere made it a satisfying, comforting stop.

A friend from California wanted to sample local beer, and we were amazed by how attentive and quick the service was. Thanks, Shona and Vickie. The broccoli soup had great flavor and consistency. We enjoyed the visit so much that we looked at a room so we can come back. Great layout, and keep up the good work, everyone 👏

The place is beautiful and the beer is excellent. Honestly, I'd come back just for the beer, it's incredibly good!!! Service could use some work. We nearly had to chase her down, even though she was very nice. The poutine fries were too hard and weren't very good.

The young woman who checked us in was fantastic and made us feel incredibly welcome. I wish I'd gotten her name. The person who checked us out was the complete opposite in friendliness. I'd even say the first woman should be teaching the rest of the staff about customer service. We decided at the last minute to spend one night in Sutton, and I'd read online that this was a pub restaurant with rooms above the Sutton Micro Brewery. We wanted to stay locally, but next time we'll look elsewhere. It's conveniently located in Sutton, though my three stars for location are mostly by default, since there's little else to compare it with nearby. We had a King Suite with a very comfortable king bed upstairs, but the rest of the room was odd and uncomfortable. The bed was up a flight of stairs in a loft by itself, while everything else was on the entry level. The Hide-a-bed was uncomfortable to sit on, and we didn't even open it. Sitting on the couch pushed your bottom forward and left your upper body leaning too far back. There was only one other chair. The suite did have a nice sun balcony, though we didn't use it because we were out during the day. There were no easy-to-reach plugs. To use the kettle, we had to balance its base on the corner of the sink and plug it into the bathroom wall outlet because no other cord reached. The room had no spoons for coffee or tea, nothing to stir with, and no milk or creamers. The coffee was a French press, but there was no measure for the grounds, so we had to dump them in and hope for the best. A tiny swing-out table was meant to be a mini desk, but I was worried it couldn't hold my laptop for a work meeting. I had to prop it up with a waste basket. The small fridge sat on two boards and wobbled so much that I caught it when it nearly fell. The upstairs bed was extremely comfortable, but pretty much everything else wasn't. I'd rate this a two-star hotel at best, and that's generous.

The food is pretty good, and the poutine was decent, though it didn't have much buffalo chicken flavor. The serving is huge, so it's worth the price.
