Breakfast was made fresh for us at the time we requested, and served on china in a pleasant dining room. The price and location were great, too. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a fridge, though there weren’t many outlets for charging, which is typical in an old building. Each floor has a shared kitchenette with tea and coffee, but there’s no kettle or coffee in the room. This place sits somewhere between a hotel and a B&B. You have to text the host when you arrive to be let in, take off your shoes at the front door, lock the door when coming and going, and keep bare feet out of the common areas. The building is beautifully decorated with period pieces and artwork. The negative reviews seem to come from people caught off guard by the B&B setup. Check-in really does feel like a B&B. People who like the atmosphere and location seem happy here. If you want a chain hotel, it may not suit you, but if you’re after something a bit different, it’s a good place to stay.

This place feels like a holiday in the home of an imaginary favorite Victorian great-aunt, complete with coffee and tea service. The Charlotte Street district is just around the corner, and I’m so glad I chose this over the big chain hotel across the street. It has a real welcome-to-Sydney feel, with a friendly, personable hostess and a cozy, homey atmosphere. The cast-iron radiators were warm on a snowy winter night, and the antique furnishings had charm without being spooky. There are deep, soft Persian rugs throughout. It’s super clean, elegant but not stuffy, and the cutest toy poodle and Siamese cat greet you. Both are as friendly as can be. With all the generic hotels around, why not choose somewhere bespoke, charming, and cozy? It’s just as convenient as the chains across the street, but much more restorative.

The dogs and cat that greet you whenever you come back are a lovely extra, and the staff make the place feel so warm. We had an amazing stay at the Royal Hotel. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the owner clearly pays attention to the little details that help guests feel cozy and welcome. There’s a small kitchen with free tea and coffee, plus the cutlery and equipment you need if you’d rather eat in your room. We’ll definitely be back!

Carmen was wonderful, always ready with helpful recommendations and genuine hospitality that made us feel like more than guests. The food and drinks were excellent, from morning coffee to a glass of wine in the evening overlooking the city’s bustle. The Royal Hotel Sydney brings classic charm together with modern comfort. We were greeted with warm smiles, and the atmosphere felt elegant yet relaxed. Our room was cozy, spotlessly clean, well kept, and full of character with a touch of old-world charm. It’s centrally located, so getting around Sydney is easy, but the hotel still feels like a peaceful retreat at day’s end. It truly lives up to its name, regal, welcoming, and full of heart.

The Royal Hotel in Nova Scotia has a wonderful sense of history and heritage. Its elegant architectural details and thoughtful décor celebrate the region’s past, and staying here feels like stepping back in time with modern comforts. Carmen and her team made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They offer personal recommendations, respond promptly, and create a genuinely friendly atmosphere. The rooms were immaculately clean, the beds comfortable, and the common areas beautiful and well maintained, with space to relax and socialize. The facilities were outstanding, and the care and professionalism were clear throughout. I’d recommend it for business, leisure, or a special event. A perfect mix of historic charm and excellent hospitality.
