Days Inn By Wyndham Sylvan Lake

In February, I stayed three nights, and the dirt throughout the place was disgusting. There were piles of mud and dirt in the halls, dusty corners, and grime on the walls. I turned down the comforter and found a BLOOD stain on it (pics posted). There was moldy stuff stuck in the sink, and the bathroom didn't feel clean either (pics posted). The hotel is run down, and the rooms are very small. There wasn't any Kleenex, a first for me, and the toilet paper was the cheapest I've ever come across. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but we weren't allowed to take it back to the room, which was ridiculous and another first. I didn't bother eating in the restaurant. After reading reviews that called this place clean, I had higher hopes. Clearly my idea of clean differs wildly from the people who've stayed here and whoever is responsible for cleaning. I don't know who owns the place, but these standards aren't what I'd expect from a Days Inn. I won't book under this brand again and don't recommend it.

The room and hotel are clean, and the workers are friendly. I gave the room only 4 stars because it's tiny, has poor quality toilet paper, and no Kleenex. I rated service 3 because I can't get breakfast to go or swap the gross sausage for bacon. I'm a business customer who could stay for many weeks, but I won't extend my stay because I need a proper breakfast. I shouldn't have to go to McDonald's for a BLT.

The fitness area was pretty good for an older hotel, and the gentleman at the desk made check-in easy. My room was small, but very clean and comfortable. No complaints, I'd stay again.

The room fan wouldn't turn off and played annoying, sad elevator music. It played the same irritating music during the day, too. In the morning the ice machine didn't work, so I got room-temperature water from the pipe at breakfast. Worst place I've ever slept. I'd tell anyone to avoid it. Sleeping in a tent outside would be better.
