Auberge Marie Blanc

We stopped at the Auberge for one night while driving to PEI, and it was just what we needed. The room was spotless, and Martine was a lovely host with useful dining suggestions. With a heat warning that night, we were especially glad the air conditioning worked so well. In the evening, sitting in the Adirondack chairs looking out over the lake was so relaxing. We’d happily stay here again if we’re in the area.

We loved the lake view and the pretty surroundings. The room felt homey and was super clean, with lots of little details showing how much care goes into the place. Having dishes and a toaster meant we could make our own breakfast, too. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Room #5 is on the snug side, but it had everything we needed, including a renovated bathroom, and was exceptionally clean and well appointed. We could drive right up to unload, and the property is set back from the road, so it was very quiet. There’s a private table and chairs for each room under the balcony overhang. We picked up food at the Co-op to microwave, then sat by the lake with drinks and chatted with some lovely travellers from Shediac. Last night my dog and I watched the sunset from the private dock, and this morning I’m having coffee by the water with birdsong and wind in the trees. The location is unsurpassed. Martine and her lazy cat welcomed us so warmly. The original lodge and Reception brought back memories of my family cottage, from the smells to the decor. Such a charming gem, and definitely our stop on the way to the Maritimes 💚

The setting right on the lake is so relaxing, whether you’re recharging on holiday or stopping on the way to or from the East Coast. It’s close to the highway, too. This charming, great-value Motel has recently been renovated, with beautiful all-white decor and amenities that feel like a high-end hotel. The towels are fluffy, the shower is fantastic, and there’s great shampoo, a mini fridge, and a kitchen. They even offer room service with gourmet organic meals delivered to your room, perfect for enjoying with the lake view. The scenery is stunning, and there’s great birding, plus hiking and biking on the rail trail that runs for miles along the lake. We loved it all and will be back!
