Lamplighter Inn

We were left without a place to stay after a booking problem in Drumheller, so I called here expecting to end up in a dingy little town motel with my family. I was very happy to be wrong. The room was spacious and clean, and the customer service was fantastic. Thanks to the owner for helping us, and sorry it took me so long to write this!

Sam, the manager, went out of his way to help when my shoes and feet got soaked in a rainstorm. After asking my shoe size and finding we wore the same size, he lent me a pair of his own sneakers. That kindness made a great stay even more memorable. I was here for two nights, and this was the best value room I’ve ever stayed in. The room was large, clean, and had everything I needed, including good soap and shampoo and conditioner, free coffee, updated furniture, AC by the bedroom window, cable TV, and a clothes rack with unusual hangers. The bathroom was roomy, the bed was very comfortable, and the big fridge fit takeout, drinks, and even a bottle of wine all at once. I’ll stay here again whenever I’m in the area.

The gentleman who booked us was very professional and kept the second night at the same rate as the first. We were in town for a two-night hockey tournament, and the location near Hwy 21 made getting in and out easy. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. It was a pleasant stay overall. The room was a little dated, though they’re actively upgrading it, and the pull-out bed was hard to open.

The friendly guy at the front desk got us settled in. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with two queen beds, a microwave, fridge, and coffee. It was clean enough for us, and we really liked being able to park right outside the room. That made unpacking with a small child easy. The Royal Tyrrell Museum is 45 minutes away.
