Old Country Motel

I’m so grateful I got a room. I’m traveling across the country, and after a 14-hour drive the old man came through and found me a place to sleep. I really needed the rest. Thank you!

We booked online at the Modern Motel, but when we arrived to check in, the owner said they were overbooked and sent us to a second place just down the road. That place was a dump, nothing like the modern hotel advertised. It was dark and grimy, the walls were paper thin, and the neighbors kept us awake. A Bible was wedged under a broken bed frame leg to hold the bed up. Parking was awful, and we were lucky to find a spot at all. There was only one working outlet, an outdated power bar, and the four-digit room code didn’t work. We were definitely tricked into staying there.

The room was comfortable, clean, warm, and quiet, and to my surprise it had a microwave and mini fridge. The owner was very kind and helpful. It’s definitely a budget stay, and though the place could use some renovations and small repairs, I’d rather it stay as it is with such a low price. Great location, customer service, and value for the money.

I took room #10 yesterday. It had a fridge, bath, and toilet, and I got a couple of towels. Everything was clean, but neither of the lamps beside the bed worked. The location wasn’t very convenient, and I saw a few strange people around. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family trip.
