We were able to properly rest before heading on with our trip, and we’d happily come back. The cabin was spotless, easy to locate, and set somewhere peaceful. Thanks for a really good stay. 10/10, highly recommend.

The host was friendly and helpful, and the cabin had a fun mix of old, custom, and newer fittings. It’s small, but cosy, with a comfortable bed and a good night’s sleep. The train horns were a little disappointing in such a remote setting, though they didn’t bother us too much. I liked how out of the way it was, but we hadn’t packed enough food and ended up driving 25kms back to Blue Lake. We’d missed the host’s message recommending that we shop beforehand. The drinking water came from a 20 litre jug and tasted fine. The tap water smelled bad. We were told not to drink it, but weren’t told why. We showered and brushed our teeth with it, and hadn’t felt ill 24 hours later, so it seemed okay for those things. After seeing my Booking.com review, the owner explained that the tap water comes from a well and is rated safe for everything except drinking. I have no other reason to think otherwise.

Bring food and bug spray, since you’re out in the wilderness. Valemount is the closest grocery stop, and the cabin kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The owner was kind and helpful, with good suggestions for places to visit. We liked the cosy cabin, the view, the dogs on site, and watching trains pass. There’s satellite TV and wifi, too. The water smells of sulphur. They supplied a large jug with a tap and offered to refill it. There was lots of hot water, and though it was hot outside, the cabin stayed comfortable and cooled off nicely at night. If you’re lucky, you might spot a grizzly. It’s a handy base for day trips, close to Valemount, Kinbasket Lake, and plenty of scenery. We went to Mount Robson and Jasper one day, then Wells Gray Provincial Park the next. We had a great time here!

We spent ages by the living room windows, taking in the changing light over the snow-covered peaks and green forests. There was wildlife along the nearby clear river, too. This cabin felt like a peaceful place to recharge, and the well-equipped kitchen and Mickey’s thoughtful details made our stay comfortable. Mickey welcomed us with real warmth and hospitality from the moment we arrived. The cabin has a lovely rustic character, and we left feeling refreshed and inspired, already thinking about coming back to this mountain retreat in the British Columbia Rockies.

We’ve been here more than 15 times, and there’s always something new to discover. The hosts are great, and we’ve had great weather on our visits. Update: this was our 17th stay, and my family still loves it. We went berry picking, hiking in the mountains, looking for mushrooms, and more. It’s a real gem, and the hosts are top notch. The cabin is comfortable and cools down in the evening. Mosquitos didn’t bother us at all, and the train is only audible during the day. My husband, our four kids, and I all slept through the night without any trouble.
