Best Western Plus Tin Wis Resort

The room was clean and comfortable, and waking up to that ocean view was a real bonus. But the bed was much too soft, with no support at all. Please get some firmer beds 🙏

We were in an ocean-facing executive one-bedroom suite, just steps from the beach. It had a full kitchen, dining and living areas, and a gas fireplace. The resort also has a sauna, hot tub, and watersports gear for rent, plus a free breakfast and an on-site restaurant. There’s even a coffee and latte machine in the lobby. Beautiful spot, about a 10-minute drive from town. I had a great stay and would come back.

The view from Brown's Socialhouse, Tin Wis location is beautiful, with the restaurant right on the ocean overlooking the beach. We stepped out for fresh air and sat by the fire pits, watching the waves and the changing light. It was calm and grounding, just right for time together with people we love. Our family had gathered during a tender time, while my aunt is in palliative care, to celebrate and honour her life while we can still share these moments. From the moment we arrived, the team treated us with real warmth and care. Karthik, the manager, was incredibly kind and compassionate. Robbie was attentive and intuitively present, and Shane's warmth meant a lot too. Their kindness gave us room to laugh, reflect, cry a little, and celebrate my aunt's life in a dignified, joyful way. The dinner was phenomenal, truly the best dinner ever. We shared poke salmon bowls, a tofu dragon bowl, a grilled wild salmon bowl, calamari, and grilled cauliflower. Every dish looked lovely, tasted vibrant and fresh, and felt carefully prepared. It was more than a meal for us, it was something we shared as a family. The staff helped turn what could've been a heavy evening into a beautiful, light-filled memory. Thank you for giving us such a special time during these tender days. We'll always remember it.

The beachside gardens were well kept, and the location is excellent, with a food truck and coffee shop within walking distance. Our room was spacious, though not very clean: there were a couple of small blood spots in the bathroom and some cobwebs. At check-in, a staff member suggested our dog should stay in the car if we ate at a restaurant. That seemed absurd. Later, the resort lost power. It wasn't their fault, but they told us there was no backup generator and seemed completely unprepared. As it got dark, nobody checked whether we needed lanterns or extra blankets, even though the heating wasn't working. Breakfast was the usual subpar Best Western fare, with few healthy choices. It was free, but didn't add much value. Hard to recommend overall.
