TOOR Hotel Toronto, part of JdV by Hyatt

We booked two rooms at TOOR and were very happy with the stay. They were clean and a reasonable size for downtown Toronto. Everyone on staff we dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful. We’d absolutely book again.

I enjoyed my stay here, especially the excellent breakfast for Globalists. I hope that doesn’t change. The staff were friendly and hospitable, and they added a 4 p.m. late checkout without any trouble. The standard rooms are quite small, so I appreciated the upgrade to a deluxe room. It’s a new hotel, with motorized blinds, bedside lighting controls, wireless charging, and USB-C ports. The soundproofing was good too, and I didn’t hear street noise. I liked the Zenology toiletries, which are made in Canada, though the shower stream was narrow and didn’t cover much. There’s a terrace on the 14th floor with great views. The area around the hotel isn’t the best, and the nearest subway at the Eaton Centre is a bit of a walk. I never personally felt unsafe, but I wouldn’t want to spend more time in the area than necessary. A great addition to the Hyatt portfolio in Toronto.

Chris and the team were welcoming, and they helped switch my room when I asked for a better view. I had a very nice stay at Toor, in a good central location. I noticed a couple of strange characters down the street a few times, but stay alert and it shouldn’t be an issue.

The room was simple and beautiful, with plenty of natural light, and the decor struck a lovely balance between understated and beautiful. The bar, restaurant, and staff were a delight. The gentleman who checked me in had just the right mix of attentiveness and initiative, without being pushy. Hotel front desk staff elsewhere could learn from him. I travel independently and don’t usually ask for much, but I knew from the moment I arrived that I’d chosen well. This may be the best hotel experience I’ve had across many countries, brands, and locations. I can’t say enough good things about the property. I hope I get back soon.
