Best Western Plus Country Meadows Inn

We picked this hotel because it was handy for a competition at the community center. The room was clean, and we had no issues. The pool and hot tub were good, and breakfast was fine. My one complaint is that the room price had doubled between my first look and when I actually booked. Next time, I’ll reserve well ahead to get a better price.

After my truck broke down last night, I had to get it towed to a Lordco a couple blocks away, since all the parts stores were closed. I was in a rush, so I didn’t get to enjoy the pool, hot tub, or gym, though they would’ve made it a nice place to relax if I’d arrived earlier. The room was very clean, with a Keurig and a smart TV that let me watch YouTube or sign into my Netflix account. I paid just $143, which impressed me most. I’ve paid more elsewhere for rooms with a lot less. Best Western is the way to go.

The first room smelled awful and was dirty. Both bedspreads had stains, there was garbage left by previous guests, and I found hair in the bathtub. After I called the front desk, a woman came up about 30 minutes later to inspect it. She laughed, then said she’d move us. We’d already paid a $300 deposit and $172 for the room. The next room had visible bugs, big ones on the pillow. I brought it down to the desk, where two workers spoke to each other in another language and seemed annoyed that I’d brought the pillow. They moved us to a third room. At least that one smelled better, but the toilet wouldn’t flush. It was very late and we were exhausted from traveling, so we went to bed and left first thing in the morning. Check-in had been horrible too, and the staff were rude. Checkout was just as frustrating. A man named ED was rude and condescending when I asked about my $300 deposit. He basically told me to check with my bank and said it wasn’t his problem. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I’ll never stay here again. If zero stars had been an option, that’s what I would’ve chosen.

I stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Aldergrove with my mother's friend while helping her move out of town. The lobby was a nice place to work, with a desk for using your devices and a station for making coffee and cappuccinos. I also enjoyed the indoor pool, which was quiet during our stay. Our room was spacious and worked well for us, though there weren’t any robes. Breakfast was quite good, especially the waffle station. You make them fresh yourself and can add toppings like strawberry/blueberry compote and whipped cream. I had a nice stay and would definitely recommend this Best Western.
