The hydro bikes and the trail to the beaver lodge were our favorite things to do. There was plenty to keep us occupied, but it still felt quiet, with the whole area to ourselves. Jamie was so friendly from arrival through to the time we left. Our chalet had lovely wood throughout and a huge bathtub. The couch even felt like the one at my grandma's where I used to nap as a kid, which I loved. The food gave the rustic cottage stay a fine-dining feel every night. We drove in from Kingston, and the two-and-a-half-hour trip made for a perfect little road trip. I'd recommend it 💖

The location and the idea behind the place are lovely, but our room felt simply old rather than quaint. The bed creaked, the blankets were ancient brown synthetics, and the shower had barely any water pressure. It was also too low for me to fit my head under. This was the worst night's sleep of our two-week trip, despite being the most expensive night. The owner was barely around and didn't really take in our feedback. It could be a great place if some of the money went toward updates. As it is, we left tired, with bags under our eyes and a bad taste in our mouths.

We came away feeling refreshed and already talking about a return in the autumn. The service was a big part of that: Inga and Jamie were warm, helpful and engaging, while Kate, Katie and Sierra were delightful and impressively attentive. Our room was comfortable and beautiful, with a fireplace and a balcony facing Lower Buckhorn Lake. The grounds and decor bring the natural surroundings indoors, and there was art and interesting artifacts everywhere, including work by some well-known Canadian artists. The setting itself is gorgeous. Chef Kyle's three-course dinners were excellent, too. We had a peaceful, thoroughly enjoyable two-night stay at the Westwind Inn. If serenity, natural beauty, comfort and friendly service are what you're after, we highly recommend it.

The team at Westwind Inn handled a small payment problem with real kindness and professionalism. It wasn't anyone's fault, and both the staff and owner went out of their way to sort it out. Every staff member we met was wonderful, from our welcome through checkout, and that care is a big reason we'll come back. We only stayed one night, but our room looked out over the water and trees, such a peaceful view. Having coffee on the deck outside our room in the morning was a treat. The meals were memorable, delicious and beautifully presented. My husband and I had a wonderful visit, and next time we'll stay two nights to enjoy more of the amenities. Thank you, Westwind Inn!

The setting is beautiful and the food was good. We were there for a wedding, and the accommodations felt very expensive for rooms that were so outdated. Poor management is what made the stay a one-star experience.
