The Birches Resort

The beach and swimming area are cleared of weeds and motorized boats, and there’s easy access by water, too. Our family has been coming to this amazing resort for decades. The same friendly family works hard to maintain both the resort and its private drive. There are great amenities and lots of room for activities and parking.

Horst and Irma are a real joy to be around, and they’re wonderful hosts. Our family has stayed at The Birches Resort many times and loved every minute. The accommodations and amenities are excellent. Can’t wait for our next visit this summer. See you soon!

The owners are lovely, and the property was well maintained, with docks in good, sturdy shape. I spent a long weekend fishing with some buddies. We laughed a lot, caught some awesome fish, and had a great time all around. Couldn’t have asked for more.

We had a great time with four families at one of the nicest rental cottages on the lake, and we’ll likely book again. There was lots of room for outdoor games like volleyball, badminton, and bocce, plus indoor options including billiards, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, and board games. The kitchen and bathroom amenities were second to none: four of the six bedrooms had private baths, and there was a dual digital electric oven, two dishwashers, and a nice BBQ. For the cost, though, the cleaning could be better. We arrived to dusty old cobwebs and sandy floors. The ad mentioned canoes, but there were only two single kayaks, so most adults didn’t get to enjoy the water by the cottage. The shallow water at one side of the dock was okay, where beach sand covered the bottom muck. But swim farther from shore and you’re sure to encounter weeds and soft mush squishing between your toes. We’ll probably bring our own watercraft next time to fish with the family or take long canoe rides around the lake. Sandy Beach is only a 15-minute bike ride away if that’s what you’re after.
