We used the Edge of Avalon as a base for two nights on the Irish Loop, and it made getting to Mistaken Point, The Ferryland Lighthouse, and St. Vincent Beach easy. The staff were friendly every time we saw them, and our room had plenty of space and a really comfortable bed. Dinner was delicious both evenings, with big portions at fair prices. I rarely take food pictures, but the fried cod with fresh dill sauce was worth one. We had a fabulous stay.

The Powles Head Lighthouse Suite was roomy and comfortable, with a king-size bed and a modern bathroom. The restaurant is very good, though it closes at 8 p.m., so don't get there too late. It's a handy base for exploring the southern Irish Loop. Breakfast was the weak point and the reason I'd stop short of five stars. It was very basic, and could use options like cheese or ham, plus local jams.

Colleen and Linda made our two-night stay feel special. They were incredibly kind and took such good care of us. We ate both breakfast and dinner there on each of the two days, and the food was excellent. Thanks so much, Linda and Colleen.

After a lovely day of driving, this was a welcoming spot to stop for dinner. I had the Fish & Chips, followed by Bakeapple cheesecake, and both were delicious. The serving was generous and came out hot, and Anne was a very friendly server. I'd gladly eat here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a good place along the Irish Loop.

We stopped for dinner but didn't stay overnight. The food tasted great, and the location was excellent. From our room, we could enjoy the sunset while eating. I'd like to try staying in the rooms next time.
