Skerwink Hostel

Skerwink trail is just 100 meters down the road, a breathtaking 5.3 km hike. The breakfast was very good and much needed. This was one of the best hostels I've been to, with a spotless place, great hosts, and a super cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

We only had one night here before heading to Bonavista’s hostel, which felt like a really big downgrade. I wish we'd stayed longer. This was the best place we stayed in Newfound Land. It's within walking distance of the skerwink trail and Port Rexton Brewery, and really close to two whales, a must go if you're passing by. The breakfast was good, and homemade bread from a bread machine was a nice step up from the usual hostel breakfast. The tenant gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived. The place is nicely decorated, and I liked the Bluetooth speaker in the old speaker. There are nice common areas for reading before bed.

The room was spotless, the staff excellent, and the homemade bread amazing. We stayed two nights, right near the start of the Skerwink Trail and Port Rexton brewery. Highly recommended.

The beds were *very* squeaky, even by hostel standards, which was my only disappointment. Otherwise, the hostel was absolutely wonderful, with kind, helpful staff and clean, nice facilities. I'd absolutely recommend it. If I could, I'd give it 4.5/5.
