Hôtel Oui GO!

The staff were friendly, but the room was a real letdown. We booked at short notice and got the king-size bed we’d been promised, yet the room was much smaller than described and had no view. For the price and category, it wasn’t what we expected. They waived the parking fee and offered 10% off a future stay, but since we’re traveling from Europe, that felt more symbolic than like a real solution.

The mattress was very firm, which was my only complaint. Otherwise, the room was nicely decorated, clean, and most things worked well. Hotel Oui Go is in an excellent location. There’s temporary parking out front for unloading, and a secure lot about a five-minute walk away that costs $10.

We enjoyed our stay, and Trois-Rivieres is a quaint city that’s worth visiting. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and close to everything. Our French wasn’t strong, and one of the young women at the front desk didn’t feel comfortable helping us, so we had to wait for another host. It felt a bit awkward, but I guess I should brush up on my French!

Parking costs money and is a kilometre away, and the receptionist was rude. On my last day she called to say I had to put my parking card in a box as I was leaving. That was fine, but she never mentioned a deadline, and I couldn’t make it in time because I was on a work trip. When I came back to the hotel to get my earbuds, she was very rude and said I’d missed the cutoff. To get my earphones back, I had to go back to the parking lot and bring the card to her. I definitely won’t stay here next year.
