Waters Edge Shoreside Suites

For the price, this hidden gem is a real steal. The outdoor hot tub made for peaceful, romantic evenings. It’s rare to find a budget-friendly place with such vacation vibes and a cozy atmosphere for couples or families looking for a little magic without spending too much.

In room 701, we had a great view and lots of privacy. We got it for $159/night, a deluxe king with an outdoor tub and gas fireplace. Everything was clean, and although the deluxe rooms are a bit older, everything was functional and tidy. The bed was pretty comfortable too, which I rarely find with hotel beds. I loved having coffee outside early in the morning, then a glass of bubbly in the outdoor tub at night. The deep indoor tub was also nice for a soak if it was too cold outside. We didn't hear sea lions in the bedroom at night, though some other guests have; complimentary ear plugs are available at reception. The location was great, and it was a serene place to reset our nervous systems. We had a great trip and will definitely be back.

The floor plan was very clean and well thought out, with plenty of unexpected extras like a quilted throw, binoculars, washer and dryer, and kettle. There was also lots of storage, a fireplace, screens, and a porch. Amazing location. I'd highly recommend it.

This was our third visit, and we've mostly enjoyed our stays each time. The views and location are hard to beat, but our unrenovated two-bedroom King suite, which had no outdoor tub, fell short. The toilet seat in the main bedroom was peeling, the pillows were so flat that we often woke with sore necks, and the second bedroom's mattress was lumpy. There were no coffee filters in the room, so we used paper towels the first time. I'm sure we'll come back, but only if we can book a renovated room. If those are lacking, we'll need to find somewhere else.
