Arden Hotel

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the location right across from St Paul's hospital was much appreciated. The building is said to have been a carriage house, and I’d like to see more of its history shared. It was extremely clean, and I loved the fire pit and garden. There are extra amenities for guests. The bathtub was very low and not comfortable for soaking, and it was hard to get out of with a knee that doesn’t bend properly.

From the room, you can see the grand St Paul's holiday lights. It’s not fancy, but it’s safe, clean, and adequate, with a great attached coffee shop that makes excellent cappuccino. The courtyard is nicely planted and has a little fire, and the staff held our bags until check-in. The room had its own A/C and lovely makeup remover pads. My only complaint: if checkout is at 11 am, don’t make people wait until 3 or 4 to check in.

There are no frills or pomp here, just a warm courtyard where travellers meet other travellers. We found The Burrard impeccably clean, with enough amenities for our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, and went out of their way to handle our few requests. It doesn’t pretend to be the Westin or the Hyatt. Come as you are, enjoy the hospitality and the city, and explore the eclectic places to eat within walking distance. We’ll be back!

We were in town for a funeral, and I was impressed by how well this hotel is managed. Everything was so clean, including the parking area, doors, windows, walls, and shower. The staff were smiling, engaging with guests, and seemed happy to be at work. We couldn’t have been happier and would definitely stay again. The room was large, with comfortable beds and fun decor. Parking was secure and easy to access, check-in was simple, and we could check out online. The price was awesome.
