Fairmont Pacific Rim

We only had a short stay during our layover, but we’re already planning a longer return. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were amazing. My husband used the gym and tried the option to borrow gym clothes, which was so cool. The hotel was beautiful, and it was neat hearing they have live music some nights. We arrived close to midnight after delayed flights and missing baggage, exhausted and probably a bit grumpy. The employee who greeted us was warm and made us feel at home right away. They explained some of the incredible AMEX benefits, and check-in was quick and smooth. We’d rented two rooms while traveling with our two teens, and the friendly welcome helped us finally relax after a brutal travel day. Room service arrived quickly, with employees delivering it with a smile. We also ordered breakfast in our rooms, and it was delicious. We had a lovely experience both times.

We always have an unforgettable stay here, and I’ve called it my favorite hotel for years. The newly renovated Gold Floor left me speechless, from the design and details to the breathtaking atmosphere. The facilities are outstanding, and everyone working here is welcoming, professional, and thoughtful. The concierge team went above and beyond again. We enjoyed live music and delicious sushi in the lounge, plus what I’d call the best espresso martini in town. The room was beautiful and comfortable as always, and I love the in-room products. Their shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are my favorite brand and make staying here feel more like home. Highly recommended.

We still enjoyed our stay overall and hope Fairmont improves how it communicates changes. If we’d known the Spa facilities were closed, we could have set different expectations. Our therapists were excellent and the massages were genuinely enjoyable, but the price was hard to justify without the usual spa amenities. We’d returned to the Pacific Rim for a much-needed Valentine’s weekend after loving the rooms, location, service, and attention to detail on earlier visits. The Spa had been a highlight before, so we were especially looking forward to going again. But the Spa was under construction, and nobody mentioned this when our treatments were booked or in the confirmation emails. Staff even called to offer us a couples treatment room, which we accepted, but still didn’t tell us the facilities were closed. Instead, the sixth floor and the family-oriented hotel pool and hot tub were serving spa guests too. The changing rooms were tiny and crowded with both attendants and spa guests. There were no dedicated hours for spa guests, so the hot tub was full of other hotel guests, including lots of small children. It wasn’t relaxing or romantic.

The food in the Gold Lounge is always a highlight for us. We’ve tried many Fairmont Gold lounges around North America, and Fairmont Pacific Rim remains our favorite. The Gold Team, including Naval, were attentive and genuinely caring toward everyone. That service is exactly why we keep choosing Fairmont. Naval from the Fairmont Gold Team made our Family Day staycation especially memorable. When our room wasn’t ready at check-in, he promptly explained the delay and arranged bathrobes for everyone in my family so we could enjoy the pool without getting cold. He also booked the Lobby Lounge for our preferred time. Once the room was ready, we found chocolate treats waiting for us. These thoughtful touches meant a lot. Thanks to Naval and the whole Gold Team for making our celebration so special.
