Cambie Downtown Hostel

Malones Bar should be a great place to watch football during the FIFA World Cup, right in the middle of everything. The hostel itself is a real favourite of mine, and I always enjoy coming back. The recently renovated toilets look fantastic, very modern. The rooms are comfortable and fairly quiet, with lots of rustic character from the old historic building. The kitchen is relaxing and well equipped for cooking, or just sitting with tea or coffee and a biscuit or scone, watching TV or looking out the window. Say hi to Olya if you’re there, she’s an amazing employee and quite the “Queen” of the Cambie. Cheers, and all the best!

The kitchen was a real plus for me, roomy and stocked with everything I needed. I shared a room with another man and found it comfortable and convenient. It’s a cozy place with a friendly feel, and the staff were wonderful. Special thanks to Olya for helping me during my stay. I’d recommend it.

Fernando, the receptionist next to 515, is organized, attentive, and communicates really well. He’s reliable, always willing to help, and brings a positive attitude to his work. His commitment to guests and colleagues makes him a real asset. He goes beyond what’s expected to keep things running smoothly and make the place feel welcoming and efficient.

There’s a lounge and kitchen for guests, free coffee, clean bathrooms, and hot water. The staff are there around the clock, and the triple security access helped me feel safe. Malone’s Sports Bar is attached, so food and drinks are close by. It’s right in the city centre, which means you’ll be sleeping near other people and should bring earplugs. The value is excellent for such a central spot. Everyone was polite, and I met plenty of travelers to swap stories and laughs with, just what a hostel stay should be.
