Carmana Hotel & Suites

The location is great for shops and restaurants. The room had plenty of space, a nice view, and was quiet, though it had no carpet. Staff were friendly and the service was good. I had a hard time judging the room because the bed was only okay, and the sheets were stiff, overstarched, and loud whenever I moved. They felt like thick, heavily pressed paper, and I didn’t sleep well. The parking charge was a nasty surprise.

We were on the 11th floor in a lovely one-bedroom suite, bright, roomy, and comfortable. The front desk was friendly and efficient, and our price came to $276 CAD with tax. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by, and Breka Bakery & Cafe is amazing. The location is excellent, and we’d definitely come back.

The room was really nice, and I’d come back for the location, but I hope the service is better next time. We stayed just one night. At check-in, the receptionist, who I think was Korean, seemed untrained. I’m not sure whether the language difference was the issue, but she struggled to explain parking, and we ended up in the wrong spot. She also didn’t tell us about the hotel amenities or other information. Thankfully, the women working at checkout were very nice.

We’ve returned home to Switzerland after our vacation, and we stayed at Carmana Hotel in October. The suites were lovely, and the receptionists were nice. Stephane, the Filipino woman at reception, looked after us during our back-to-back stays and made the visit memorable. She knows Vancouver well, suggested places to visit and restaurants, and was always smiling and very polite. I’d nominate her for employee of the month if that’s possible, Carmana managers. Carmana Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Vancouver.
