Dunowen Properties

I first used Dunowen Properties in 2017, when they found places for my family on two short-notice visits in the same year. Years later, I turned to them again while looking for somewhere to stay during renovations in my condo. It’s great knowing I can still count on them. Their apartments are always in excellent locations, and everything from check-in to check-out goes smoothly. The service is reliable and professional, and I really value the consistency and peace of mind. Highly recommended!

We had a spectacular sunrise from the apartment. It was perfectly located and had everything we needed. Karel and Gabriela were helpful, friendly, and professional throughout our stay. We highly recommend Dunowen Properties and will definitely use them again.

I still haven’t received my $5,000 security deposit, even though Dunowen eventually sent me a check for 5,000 CAD within days of my mailing them a Residential Tenancy Branch form by registered mail. That was almost a year later. To me, it’s further evidence that withholding deposits in the hope tenants don’t know BC’s tenancy laws is part of this company’s business model. They first told me the deposit would arrive within two weeks of moving out. After a month with no money, I followed up and was told it would be refunded soon. A month later, they claimed I owed money for a damaged chair and an overstay charge, which landlords in BC aren’t allowed to do. When I asked, they couldn’t provide before-and-after pictures as proof. They said they’d refund me to the credit card on file, but nothing came. I’ve seen several other comments describing the same issue. Avoid this dishonest company if you don’t want them to try to keep your security deposit.
