Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites

The apartment-style setup suited us well, and we really enjoyed staying here. Our room had plenty of space and a nice balcony, while the lobby was roomy and clean. English Bay and Stanley Park are just steps away, with a grocery store and cafes right beside the property.

We found the price excellent for what we got, and everything worked well during our stay. The accommodation was clean and spacious; our only real drawback was that the bed felt quite hard to us. The location is ideal for getting around the city, with easy walks to the port, market hall, and Stanley Park.

I wasn't sure about trying Marriott apartments, but I'm really glad I did. I spent about a week at the Sonder apartments. Check-in was easy and the staff were great. There was a full-size fridge and stovetop in the kitchen, and the shower had excellent pressure and temperature. Restaurants, Stanley Park, English Bay beach, the Laughing Sculptures, and more were a short walk away. A small strip mall next door has groceries, a liquor store, and other shops. Just note there isn't an onsite gym or laundry.

I've stayed at Revival more than 20 times in recent years, and the experience has gone downhill since it partnered with Marriott. Prices have risen while the stay feels bare-bones. For over $400 a night, I expected basic things like toiletries, but there's no hand lotion and only a small bar of soap. The towels were poor quality, and there wasn't even a hair dryer in my room, so I had to go to work with wet hair. The app is now connected through Marriott, is hard to get into, and most features don't work. I couldn't extend or move a stay. When I contacted service, they were dismissive and seemed not to care. This used to be a gem, but the value isn't there anymore. I wouldn't return until Sonder / Marriott makes improvements.
