Loden Hotel

The hotel restaurant serves food of very decent quality, and the location is great. I’ll stay here again on my next visit to Vancouver. From the moment I walked in, the front desk greeted me with a smile, and the service was top notch. My room was clean and very nice, with generous amenities, including fresh lemon water and two pieces of chocolate. Nespresso, hot water and tea were available in the lobby around the clock. The two elevators usually came quickly, so we didn’t have to wait.

I’ve stayed at several four- and five-star hotels in Vancouver, and now I know where I’ll stay next time. We spent one night here at the end of December, and I’d come back 100%. Everyone we met, from the managers and reception staff to the valet attendants and cleaners, was friendly and very attentive. They understood what we needed right away and did everything they could to make the stay lovely, even leaving little treats for our child. The rooms were clean, tidy and quiet. The mattresses were a little too soft for me, though I know people have different preferences, so I haven’t counted that against my rating.

We had a great stay in a clean, quiet and pleasant room, and we’ll absolutely come back. The staff were excellent across the board, friendly, prompt and professional. When the cork broke apart in a bottle of wine we’d brought, they came to the rescue with a strainer and decanter.

The Loden is our favorite Vancouver hotel, and we’ve been coming for over five years. The service is what stands out most. The team remembers us every year, treats our pup so kindly, remembers his name and sets out dog bowls before we arrive. The hotel is well decorated and maintained, with spacious rooms and lovely natural light. We also like the Dyson hair dryers and nice toiletries. It’s a wonderful location, a quick walk to the waterfront and the shops on Robson. We book through our Amex Fine Hotel and Resorts benefits, which include $80 for breakfast, more than enough for a big meal, and $120 in room credit to use at the Tableau restaurant and bar downstairs. It’s an excellent restaurant, and I highly recommend its happy hour. Their hospitality is why we look forward to our annual Vancouver visits.
