For the price, it’s still a good hotel, with contemporary, simple rooms and a central location near Stanley Park, restaurants, downtown, and transit. The gym is well equipped, but the pool setup is unusual: it’s inside Mansion nightclub, right on the dance floor when the club is closed. It’s tiny, and swimming between the booths feels strange. There’s no sauna, which was a big downside for me, and the outdoor hot tub means moving between areas can be inconvenient. Getting in is also a bit odd. The main entrance is through a back alley. There’s another entrance on Georgia Street through Karma lounge, but it’s closed late at night and very early in the morning, leaving the alley as the only way in. The layout and amenities are definitely unique.

We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and lounge area, which were peaceful and quiet, and Karma lounge was a great place for breakfast, especially for the food quality and service. The hotel also upgraded our room and gave us sweet compliments for our anniversary. Staff stayed in touch and handled our messages and requests within 10 minutes. Valet parking was so convenient, with no need to go to the parking area, and the wait was also just 10 minutes. Choosing this hotel for our celebration was the right call. Thanks to the staff for making the moment so special and memorable.

The unexpected touches made our stay feel personal: birthday drinks and dessert for my partner, nightly turndown service with a weather card for the next day, chocolates, and fresh water. Every staff member we met, from housekeeping to the front desk, was kind and helpful. The room was massive, immaculate, and modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows, automatic shades and blinds, a private water closet, a big soaking tub and TV, comfortable bed and linens, and automated lighting. We usually stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, but tried Paradox Hotel Vancouver on a whim. It cost significantly less and exceeded our expectations. They accommodated an early check-in after our flight landed early, and the staff were warm and professional throughout. The location felt safe, central, and convenient for what we wanted to do downtown. We were impressed by the cleanliness and care, and will return.

The concierge pointed us to a cocktail lounge and speakeasy that we loved, and we got chocolate-covered strawberries for our anniversary. Our room was spotless, fresh, and beautifully updated, with a thoughtful bottle of wine waiting. Staff were attentive and professional throughout our wonderful stay. Highly recommend, and thanks!
