Sandman Hotel Vancouver City Centre

The staff were A1, pleasant and helpful with any question or concern. I was alone, but still felt cramped in the very small room, the smallest I’ve stayed in. I take it back, I’ve had smaller rooms in Europe, though I didn’t expect it in Canada. A couple would definitely find it a tight fit, and I couldn’t even do my yoga. The bed sagged a bit but was comfortable enough, and the pillows were fine. The bedside reading light is more for ambiance than reading. Hotel designers, we need a proper reading light by the bed, that’s a must! The lobby coffee was okay, but I like mine stronger than most. The location was good.

The receptionists were helpful, at least. We’d booked a king room for two nights but cancelled one and ended up spending just one night because we arrived late and had no other option. The room was very small, the hallway outside felt creepy, and the bathroom sink was tiny, around six inches, with no ventilation in the bathroom. There was enough room for a standard sink and vanity. In response to Sandman’s reply, we were told this was the best available room and the others were in worse condition. It cost $281, and while the room size was alright for two, the sink was so small I could barely wash my hands or brush my teeth properly. It’s the smallest sink on the market.

Sandman Hotel fit our trip to the TWICE concert at the Roger’s Arena really well, and being close to everything we were doing was a big plus. The staff were kind and helpful every time we went to the front desk, and they accommodated our late checkout. The room was clean, easy to adjust the temperature in, and had a great view. The beds were incredibly comfortable and soft, and there were plenty of outlets. Having both a microwave and mini fridge was a huge bonus. The bathroom was bright and comfortable for getting ready, the shower pressure was wonderful, and we also enjoyed having access to the pool and gym. I’m excited to book with Sandman Hotel for a second stay and would seriously consider coming back on our next trip. Shout-out to Shiv at the front desk for great service. All the staff were great to us.

The location made getting around easy, with the stadium and Rogers Arena about a five-minute walk away and the marina around ten minutes away. Our room was modern and roomy, including a large bathroom. The gym had an impressive range of equipment, and we really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Internet worked flawlessly for my remote meetings. Chromecast on the TV was a great touch too, I streamed Netflix and YouTube from my phone without any lag. I stayed for a full week, and this place would work just as well for a single night.
