Silver Star Motel

I came for an overnight stay a few weeks ago, but left in the middle of the night and stayed elsewhere in town. They hadn’t told me there was a full time tenant in the room directly above mine. I don’t know if that’s unusual there or not, but the tenant partied in their room all night. I alerted the motel staff, who just told them to stop, and it made no difference. I asked for a refund when I left in the early morning, and the staff said I was ruining their good night’s rest. They seemed to take it personally instead of recognizing I was speaking to them because they were management and there was no one else to talk to. They did give me half the night’s cost back, since we’d used the beds trying to sleep and had left them unmade. The rooms themselves were fairly nice, but the pillows weren’t very soft, the sheets were itchy, traffic noise outside was hard to tolerate, and the walls were thin. Maybe the place would be better in another room, but I got unlucky and couldn’t spend the whole night there. Vernon has much better places to stay, with better conditions and service. Edit after the owner’s comment, since replies aren’t allowed: The owner did not offer us another room. We asked for one long before 3 in the morning, when we checked out. The owners lied about this in their reply.

The hospitality at Silver Star Motel really stood out. Staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout, and helped with local tips and quick service. The room was spotless, had everything I needed, and was surprisingly quiet for such a central location. You can tell the staff take pride in keeping things clean and comfortable. Discounts at nearby restaurants were a nice bonus. Silver Star Motel is affordable and clean, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I visit Vernon.

The owners made my second stay this week feel personal. The motel was clean, the bed was comfy, and I had a fridge, microwave, desk, and updated shower. Great value for the price, 10/10.

The welcome was genuinely friendly, and the staff seemed happy to work around any specific needs. My room was private, clean, and comfortable, especially for the price. I'd happily stay here again.
