Spirit Lodge at Silverstar

The lodge is lovely, with Indigenous art throughout, and Autumn the golden retriever was an added bonus. Yvonne & Robert were wonderful hosts, and the hostess was always happy to do more to help. Eagles Nest was spotless and had an incredibly comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and kept us going till dinner. A definite must-stay if you're passing through Vernon, BC.

We came a week too early for the outdoor skating rink and other resort activities, so we're planning another visit next December. The Resort at Silverstar, a little farther up the road, was already bustling, and its small village looked beautiful lit up at night. There were some great restaurants and pubs there. We also hiked down the roughly 100 steps to BX Falls for photos, and we'd like to come back in summer to enjoy the lake. At Spirit Lodge, the huge hot tub was lovely at night with the city lights below. The bed was comfortable, the heated floors felt great, and the towel warmers were a nice touch. We enjoyed the early snow at the famous Nordic centre up the road and skied for kilometres on freshly groomed trails. With the trees all around, it felt like being in a Snow Globe! My daughter and I had an amazing mother daughter weekend in December. The dream cabin has even been featured in movies. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, curling up in the living room with tea and books and taking afternoon naps while Robert kept the wood fire going. Yvonne and her brother Robert, along with Autumn, were such attentive, welcoming hosts. Yvonne's breakfasts were delicious and even better than expected, with some of her signature creations. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. We'll definitely come back to enjoy this “hidden” gem, hidden only from us, since thousands of people have enjoyed Spirit Lodge before. Thanks again, Yvonne and Robert, and of course Autumn.

Yvonne was easy to communicate with and so hospitable, and Autumn the golden retriever became my new best friend. I came in summer as part of a BC road trip and couldn't have been happier with Silver Lodge. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with gorgeous views and space to be on your own in the room or patio, or mingle in the shared areas. Watching the distant city lights with a glass of excellent local wine was a highlight.

I loved the view, hot tub, Indigenous art, pool table, board games, and puzzle. The bed was great, and the sheets were the softest I've ever felt. Spirit Lodge has a one-of-a-kind house atmosphere that exceeded what we expected, and the people who live there add to its relaxing spirit. Yvonne made us feel at home. We stayed two nights and had her delicious breakfast each morning.
