The rooms were clean and modern, and the wifi worked. The guests were noisy all night, maybe because there was a hockey convention or something in town, and construction next door added to it. I picked this "Premier" Best Western for a work trip, expecting the usual business-traveler value, but there was no free breakfast. Instead, you get 20% off breakfast at the attached restaurant. I usually stay at Best Westerns because breakfast is included and I can grab snacks for lunch, which makes the value hard to beat. The Best Western Plus in Revelstoke, for example, includes everything, is centrally located, and feels higher quality than this "Premier". Other things disappointed me too: old coin-operated laundry machines looked tacky, people experiencing homelessness were constantly roaming around the cars, and the hot tub was out of service. From the comments, I couldn't tell if they leave the sign up all year. Their 24-hour cancellation rule is a problem as well. If I finish work early, they still charge for the next day. I've never encountered that anywhere else, and it hardly seems appropriate. I probably won't stay here again. I'll try the other location, and if that doesn't work, stay somewhere else. There's really no point.

The hotel is in a good central area, though you'll need a car to get around compared with staying downtown. There are a few working Level 2 EV chargers too. The renovated two-bedroom rooms are spacious, with a sofa bed and a great view. They have both privacy shades and blackout curtains, which is a nice bonus. The washroom uses its space well, and I liked the wall that hides the toilet from the sink. More homes and hotels could use that idea. The branded Pharmacopia shampoo and conditioner were nice, and there was plenty of desk space for work. The TV was easy to use, unlike some remotes I've dealt with after staying in enough hotels. The lobby and main floor have impressive high ceilings, and one elevator's interior walls would make other hotels blush. One of the nicest BW Premiers I've stayed at.

We'd stayed here many times, but this was our worst visit. I work in housekeeping, so I expected more. Dust was clogging the bathroom fan, sitting on top of the fridge, and covering things in the public areas. We found a pen and crumbs under the pull-out sofa bed. The room wasn't necessarily disgusting, but it needed better attention. When housekeeping came, all they did was take out the trash, even though one bed was unused, or two if you count the sofa bed. The pool felt completely unheated, and the hot tub seemed to have far too much chemical in it. We and our swimsuits smelled awful afterward, and the odor made us nauseous. One of us got so itchy they had to wash several times. We tried to use the lotion to soothe the itching, but one of the two bottles in the bathroom had already been used by a previous guest. The attached restaurant wasn't enjoyable: the food was overpriced for what you got, and the server wasn't friendly or welcoming. In our opinion, eat elsewhere, bring food, or pick up groceries at the Superstore across the street. The front desk staff overall weren't welcoming either. There was no clock in the room, and the hotel had none when we asked. The sign in the room also said there was nothing available.

The hot tub had apparently been out for days, from what I overheard. At check-in, the young women seemed more interested in chatting with each other. The breakfast sign said service ran until 10:30, so I planned checkout around that and arrived at 10:10, only to be told it was closed. I wanted to use my 20% discount. A bust.

The restaurant smell took over the whole left side of the hotel. One morning our room smelled of bacon and sausage, the next of grease and onions. It was nauseating and made it hard to stay or sleep there. We were in town for a sporting tournament, and service was poor. Our suite didn't have a toaster, so I asked for one. After waiting over an hour, I called and was told none were available. When I politely asked if they could check again, the staff member hung up on me. A toaster arrived shortly afterward, so one had clearly been found. There's a sign in the elevator saying housekeeping won't make the bed if you leave pajamas on it. That seems ridiculous, and I've never heard of that at another hotel. They also charge $25 for a one-hour late checkout. I understand if it can't be done because of incoming guests, but charging when it's available feels like nickel-and-diming. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless the service and amenities improve a lot.
