Birchwood Motor Hotel

The ribs were meaty and tender, and the half-slab portion was generous enough to fall off the bone. Coleslaw and fries were delicious too. Really tasty, and well priced.

The Birch Burger could hold its own in Winnipeg for Le Burgur week. The restaurant is just what you'd expect, with great food, decent prices, and amazing staff.

Our meal ended on a terrible note. My friend paid $30 for a steak sandwich, but the steak was so raw he could barely cut it, let alone chew it. He politely told the server, who offered to have a new one made. Instead, the chef cooked the leftover steak on high heat, charring the outside and giving it such a strong charcoal taste that he still couldn't eat it.

My $30 steak sandwich was overpriced and came with nothing on it. The steak was so raw I could hear it moo, and when I complained, they wouldn't refund or replace it. They just recooked what was left for about a minute, and it came back burnt and tasting like charcoal. Nothing had any flavor, there was no refund, and the server laughed at us. Go if you want to feel like a circus clown.
