Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria On The Harbour

The fast wifi and the cute cat in the lobby were the only redeeming parts. My room was bare, poorly lit, and had four random doors that didn't open or seem to lead anywhere. There were almost no conveniences, just the bare minimum of soap and coffee cups. The bathroom wasn't clean either, with some medication left on the floor by the last guest. The hallways smelled bad and damp. I won't stay at a Days Inn again. The place felt run down and creepy.

The location was great and the staff were friendly, but the room wasn't comfortable. The bed was hard to sleep in, the lighting was poor, and there were only two reachable outlets in the main area. One was taken by the headboard and the other by the fan, which had to stand in for air conditioning. The bathroom was tiny and up a step. The elevator was so small that two people with bags was about all it could handle, so expect a wait or take the stairs at checkout. The hot tub was open, but I don't know how someone who isn't relatively fit would remove its foam cover alone. At $185 for a harbour-view room, it wasn't worth it.

I stay here at least 50 nights a year, and it's always clean and accommodating, with a million-dollar view of the inner harbour. The hotel is old, but that's about as negative as I can get. Darryl, the Hotel Manager, sets high standards, and the team always goes above and beyond. Highly recommend it!

The value was very good, and the harbourfront location puts you close to lots of tourist spots and the ferries. Friends staying at the Best Western next door said they'd choose the Days Inn next time. There's no breakfast, but I bring my own since I'm gluten free. There is a restaurant with a good range of gluten-free options, and a quaint vegan restaurant with a very healthy menu just a block away.
