Super 8 Victoria

The room smelled moldy, and the carpet was dusty and stained. The old air conditioning was noisy and dusty too. I expected a small fridge, but there wasn't one, and no microwave either. The staff seemed a little aloof, almost like they were afraid of complaints. Breakfast was included and tasted good, but there were no protein options or fruit choices beyond old apples. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a family.

For the price, the rooms are clean and decent. My stay was good overall, but nothing really impressed me. Breakfast was average, and the elevator seemed very old and felt unsafe.

You can see why this is the cheapest place in Victoria. The hotel is supposed to be shutting down soon, and maintenance seems to be at an absolute minimum. The staff were nice and very apologetic, but the bed was hard and lumpy, there was no AC, and all the furniture was broken. I wouldn't stay again.

I'd give this a zero if I could. I've never felt more insulted by the woman at the front desk. She told me locals couldn't stay long term. When I asked why, she rudely said that if I was from Victoria, I should have a home to go to. I'm moving between places and have two weeks to wait for my damage and pet deposit. With pets, I'm at the bottom of the list for apartments, and I need two months' rent for the first month. I don't have an extra $1,500 lying around while waiting for my deposit, so unfortunately I have to look at hotels for a month. I have a large dog, and the apartments that limit dog size leave no one able to take him in. Being told I should have had a home to go to was a kick while I was already down. According to Super 8, I should be on the streets by New Year's because, as they put it, I should have a home to go to.
