We paid $500 for one night and left before checkout. The room smelled, the curtains were broken, there was no hot water, and it was so narrow it felt like a jail cell. The customer service was terrible too. I emailed the person responsible and got a reply saying that was the service you get for $500. That seemed strange after I’d had better stays for less, even on expensive long weekends. I’m attaching the screenshot of the employee’s reply after I complained.
We stayed as a family in Cottages 7 and 8, and both were very disappointing. There was a strong mold-like odor, and they were extremely dirty throughout. It felt unhygienic and uncomfortable, especially with our kids. Several basic things were also wrong: no soap in the washrooms, a microwave that didn’t work properly, no bathroom door locks, and broken window blinds. The cottages were frustrating to use, and we were disappointed by their condition and the lack of proper service.
We’d book this again in a heartbeat for a grad trip. We had six cabins for 30 people, and the hosts made organizing a group that size much easier. They answered our questions, sorted out our needs, and usually replied within hours. That was especially helpful with parking and other little details. The grounds were spacious, with basketball hoops, picnic tables, and barbecues that we used every day. The cabins had the basics for living, including plates and cups, and the pullout beds were comfortable. They were mostly clean, though most windows didn’t have screens, so leaving them open for air meant bugs could get in. Some were already inside when we arrived. We were three minutes on foot from the quieter, smaller beach area. The walk to the main beach was longer, as expected. It’s a good option for a big group like ours or a family trip. The service was great and we hope to visit again, though organizing a large stay may work differently than booking one cabin. It was our final graduation trip.
Our yearly Wasaga Beach trip turned into a nine day stay at Alton Lodges, even though we’d planned for just 3 days. Rob and Tammy were so hospitable, and we met lots of lovely people. The kids made good friends, and I didn’t want to leave. We’re definitely going back next year. It’s a five minute walk to the Beach and a short walk to Beach 1, with other areas easy to reach too. Families can gather around the camp fire to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. It’s a nice cottage for families, and it’s also available during ski season in winter. I’d encourage you to book this vacation rental.
The beach is only a 10 minute walk away, and it’s a quiet stretch. The owners were helpful and knew the area well. Each cottage has the cooking essentials, clean comfortable beds, a TV in the living area, and its own BBQ. Outside, there’s a picnic table and chairs for every cottage, plus a shared gazebo for shelter and a fire pit for the evening. A fantastic place for a family vacation. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
