The people are nice, and there’s a good, old-fashioned feel to the place. I’ve stayed here many times over the years, and the well water is quite good. I once saw a bear heading down the road. Keep an eye out for the sign, though, since it can be a little tricky to find.

Greg made us feel at home and was really welcoming. The house is old-style, very comfy and cozy, and set in a beautiful spot surrounded by nature. À la prochaine, bisous bisous.

The Wentworth Look Off is well worth the climb. The trail behind the hostel is gorgeous, though it’s pretty steep for most of the way. I did it in snow, which made it harder than I suspect it usually is. At least the walk back is all downhill. I didn’t stay at the hostel.

Andrew was a big help and gave us lots of recommendations for swimming, hiking, and seeing the sights. There are loads of hiking trails starting right at the hostel, plus great indoor and outdoor spots to sit, read, and relax. It’s a great hostel in an 1800s farmhouse. We’ve been hosteling for over 30 years, and now that we’re in our 60s, we highly recommend HI hostels in Canada.
