The location is unbeatable, and unit #11 itself was well appointed, with nice electronics and a comfortable bed. Still, I won't stay here again. There is no elevator, which isn't a problem by itself, but guests have to use the stairs and the stair door is about 10 feet from our unit. Every time someone comes or goes, it slams loudly. The condo entrance doors do the same. It starts around 630 am and continues late into the night. I think the door closers could be adjusted to shut more softly, but they haven't been. It made it impossible to really relax. We knew there could be a lot of outside noise late at night, so we brought earplugs and that took care of it. There are three bars below or across the street, Mojo's, Tapleys, and The Beacon Pub, right across from our bedroom window. Most of the late-night noise came from The Beacon Pub, which has a lively outdoor patio. Having the grocery and liquor stores in the building was a real plus, and the gondola is about a four-minute walk away. We'll return to Whistler, but not to The Hearthstone Lodge.

The location is hard to beat, but it didn't help when people were yelling in the street below our rental at 2:45 a.m. on a weekday. This was the second night in a row, and I was writing this in the very early hours of Thursday. I could hear people shouting just for the sake of it. Losing sleep like that ruins the next day of skiing. I won't stay here again.
We arrived with my family and family friends excited to stay, and ended up disappointed. The rules included fussy instructions like not plugging in a hairdryer and phone charger at the same time. I expect a hotel to let us plug in a couple of things without risking a power outage five minutes after we arrive. The customer service was terrible too. We called for help with the outage, and they abruptly ended the call after blaming us for using too much power. Then they texted to try to get proof that we had overloaded it. I'd give this place zero stars if Google allowed it.
The unit was gorgeous and the location was great, though finding the entrance was difficult. There should be more blinds: on a hot summer day the place gets really hot, and one fan isn't enough.
A fantastic, comfortable apartment in an unbeatable spot. It had everything we needed, and the people we dealt with were wonderful.
