The room smelled awful and wasn’t clean, and there was blood on one set of sheets. The beds were tolerable to sleep in if you could ignore the dirt elsewhere. I only gave one star because the form wouldn’t let me leave it blank. This was the worst motel experience I’ve had, even after staying in some shady places. The staff member seemed nice on the phone, but was completely different once we checked in. Before 11pm, he called my room four times in 15 minutes and wouldn’t let us speak or respond. When my son came by with a friend, he called again to ask how many people were staying. We told him, but he argued, saying he saw people get out of the car and go into our room on camera. He yelled that visitors weren’t allowed, though the rules only prohibit visitors after 11pm. We were in the middle of booking another room online for my son, but he wouldn’t listen and said he’d charge us extra per person. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The room was disgusting: stained carpets and chairs, holes and cracks in the walls, bugs, and a toilet that struggled to flush. The pillows were badly worn. When we asked for more, we were told none were available and it would cost $20 to get some from a vacant room. I said that was ridiculous, and he told us to leave the property or he’d call the police. This is the worst place I’ve stayed. We won’t be back, and I definitely don’t recommend it.

On our second night, we returned to find the bed still unmade and the linens unchanged. When I complained at the office, staff said they had weekly guests and cleaned rooms only once a week, not every day. They were very rude and said they’d give me clean towels but that I had to check out the next day. I’ve never encountered that at a motel, and I won’t stay there again. The room had smelled disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned when we checked in for two nights.

We stayed because this was the only independent hotel around and we wanted to shop local. The gentleman who checked us in was nice, and the room was quiet and dark enough for a lovely sleep. But the room was dated, with peeling paint, dirty door jambs and carpet, and bath towels about the size of tea towels. We were too tired to leave. At checkout I ran into the most unhappy person I’ve ever seen. I got the $100 deposit back, although nobody checked the room, which seemed odd when they’d taken a deposit even though I paid by credit card. We got out before her grumpiness rubbed off on me. We slept well, but don’t plan to return.
