Yukon Black Spruce

The Black Spruce Landscape Hotel was even better than I’d hoped. My cabin was simple and cozy, with everything I needed for a long weekend. The setting was beautiful and peaceful, and the sauna was easy to use and relaxing. Laird was friendly and quick to respond, and the location was very convenient. I have so many good things to say about the Black Spruce, and I’ll definitely stay there next time I’m in Whitehorse.

We felt safe and well looked after throughout our stay, even with the heavy snowfall. The property was maintained every day, and our host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, which made everything stress-free and enjoyable. The room was stylish, clean, and very comfortable, though the shower area was a bit small. It’s about a 10-minute taxi ride to downtown Whitehorse, so it suits people who want a quiet place to relax instead of walking around town. Having a car makes getting around very easy. I’d highly recommend it for a calm, relaxing stay.

The tiny house cabin was incredibly cozy, like staying in a little cabin in the woods, while still being quite close to Whitehorse city centre. In winter, the lights strewn across the trees make the place feel magical. Laird, the owner, was gracious and accommodating, easy to reach, and gave us plenty of recommendations. The Japanese-style toilet was another highlight, with a warm seat in winter. Definitely make use of the sauna facilities while you’re there.

The design of these unique little cabins has clearly had a lot of care put into it. Laird thought of everything, even including info panels and books about how they were designed. The inside layout was great. For a very reasonable price, we got a private, detached tiny cabin and access to a full kitchen, sauna, and fire pit. Plates, cutlery, pots, cups, and mugs were all there. Such an amazing place to stay. Thank you, Laird!
