Check-in went smoothly, the rooms were nice and new, and the food was okay. Service was good until the front desk cancelled my 4:50 cab the morning I was leaving. They had booked it for me the day before, but when room 310 got a cab an hour earlier, they assumed it was probably meant for me in room 319 and cancelled mine. I ended up leaving 15 minutes late for the airport, and online check-in wasn't working that day either, so I left frustrated. If you're staying here, book your own cab.

The staff were professional and pleasant, and the airport shuttle driver was kind and helpful. I’d definitely stay at the Hyatt again. I’ve been twice in the last few weeks, and the hotel is very new. The rooms are quiet, with big windows and blinds that work well during the long summer days. Beds and pillows are comfortable, though I wanted more than the thin extra blanket they provided. I asked for another one too. The corner couch was a comfy place to read, with a bright light overhead and a little table for drinks and papers. The bedside lights were bright enough for reading, which matters to me. There’s a fridge, and the large TV looked top of the line, though I didn’t turn it on. The bathroom is laid out nicely, and I like the large refillable amenity containers instead of little disposable ones. The tub is small but usable. On my second stay I got a room with a shower, and only realized there was no tub after unpacking, so ask if you prefer one. I’m not a fan of the Keurig-style coffee maker because the pods create too much plastic waste. I’d rather have the old machines with coffee pouches. They do provide real cups instead of paper or Styrofoam, though they’re pretty much demitasse size. The gym is open 24/7, which is important to me, and it’s bigger than many small hotel gyms. They also have yoga mats, a big plus in my book. The restaurant food was good, but the coffee was awful. When I said I couldn’t drink it, the waiter said it was Midnight Sun Coffee. That’s good coffee when there’s enough of it, but this was so weak I couldn’t drink it.

Cecile gave me service that felt like something from a movie during a spectacular dinner in the lounge. The chefs served some of the finest food in town, and the beautiful facility has amazing Indigenous art from the area. The staff are lovely, and the people who come through are amazing too. Whether you’re visiting from overseas or elsewhere in Canada, or you’re a Yukoner by birth or a recent arrival, come check it out. You won’t regret spending time there. To Cecile, Sláinte!

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and polite. We had dinner at carved, where the Penne Verde and Lobster Roll were both good. It’s a very nice property, and I’d recommend it for a stay.

From the complimentary shuttle after I got off the plane to checking out, my stay at the Hyatt in the Yukon was a wonderful five-star experience. I can’t wait to return, hopefully next time for pleasure instead of work.
