Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry

The pool and water slide were loads of fun, and the hot tub was a nice place to relax. We appreciated having extra space in the king suite, including a room of our own away from the kids. It was only $15 more than the regular queen room after I phoned and got the online price matched. The stay was great value for the family. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff service was good. We could buy a restaurant voucher at the front desk toward breakfast. Booking with a company card and putting the damage deposit on another card was easy too.

On our first visit in December for a company function, we had a newly renovated room that was clean and fresh, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. We came back on January 8 for my child’s 7th birthday because we hadn’t been able to use the pool on our first stay. I messaged the front desk to ask about a birthday surprise. They suggested balloons, and I asked if they could add a card too. On the day, there were balloons all over the floor and a handwritten card. Even I was speechless, and my child was so surprised. Canadinns also upgraded our room, and my child shouted, “best birthday ever!” Aaltos gave my child a free dessert buffet as well. Canadinns Pembina staff created a core memory for my child. They went above and beyond, and I hope management recognizes what they did. I can’t describe how grateful we are. Thank you, my family will book again soon.

I hoped to get this sorted out without posting a review, but staff at CanadInns Fort Garry have been giving me the runaround for days. We booked because of a winter storm and decided to treat ourselves. For $300, we got a cold, sterile room advertised as “newly renovated,” with paper-thin walls right by the elevator. The worst part was the loud pipes or water noise repeatedly starting and stopping for three straight hours. I recorded two videos with audio, but can’t post them here. Our two kids were scared by the noise, and we struggled to get them to bed. I booked hoping for a more relaxing stay and got the opposite. I also left my prescription glasses on the bed. I’ve forgotten things at hotels before and had no trouble getting them back, but staff keep giving me the runaround. I contacted them to ask for a discount too, since $300 for one night with plumbing that loud seems outrageous. I don’t recommend this place if you want a good night’s sleep or decent customer service.

The property is older, but we had no real complaints. Our two-room suite had a walk-in shower, though its loose shower wand wouldn’t stay pointed sideways unless I held it. Everything else was great, including the restaurant.
