We spent three nights here for a friend’s wedding, and I deeply regret the money we paid. There was no real heat in the room during a Saturday night when it was minus 22 degrees. The baseboards had no thermostats, and the only option was a tiny space heater that barely helped even when sitting beside it. The listing also promised a bathtub, washer and dryer, but none were there. We didn’t get a kitchenette, silverware, or most of the other listed items either. Parking was another hassle. On arrival, we were told we couldn’t park there and had to use downtown parking. The next morning our car nearly got towed. When we asked the host where we should park, he said the driveway, and claimed he’d told us that already, though his earlier messages contradicted him. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this was the worst place we’ve stayed. Sorry for assuming heat was a basic necessity. Apparently I needed to choose a room that included it.

The host eventually gave me a full refund for my injury, but that doesn’t excuse what happened. The entrance was poorly maintained, with icy steps and no outside light. I fell down the stairs and badly hurt my hand. The host then indirectly blamed me, as shown in the attached photo. Wolfville’s planning department confirmed that the stairs didn’t meet the National Building Code, which requires handrails on stairways with three or more rises. There was almost no usable heat, either. The unit had baseboard radiators but no way to operate them, and the mini-split above the door couldn’t heat the space properly. The bathroom had no heat source and was around 14C in the morning. The location itself is superb, but the host’s rules were applied with needless harshness, in my opinion. Jeremy seems kind only while you stay within the lines he’s drawn. He didn’t have the friendly, communal spirit I associate with Airbnb. I suspect he’s brought money-focused west-coast attitudes to small-town Wolfville, NS, and puts the bottom line first, cutting corners wherever he can. The loft felt like a cozy little cottage, and my mom and I loved staying there for a weekend in Wolfville. We had everything we needed, and the pillows and sheets were incredibly soft. It was clean, too. Being so close to everything was a real bonus. We walked along the street and found several places on Main Street with live music, drinks, and food. We also enjoyed having coffee and Twinnings tea in the morning.

We had a great overnight stay in Wolfville and will definitely come back. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and checking in and out was easy. There’s air conditioning and on-site laundry for longer stays. They also had a few dishes for making coffee, along with dish soap.

A cute room and a great location for a quick getaway. My partner and I stopped in to sample the local vineyards while we were in Halifax for a conference. We loved the valley, though the room was a little dusty.
